Presenter: Akira Ikemi, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist and Professor at Kansai University Graduate School of Psychology, Japan.
He is an engaging internationally-renowned certifying coordinator of the International Focusing Institute and a Focusing-Oriented Therapist.
Akira is one of the founders of the Japan Focusing Association and has served as its executive director and president. He has written several books and numerous articles on Focusing in Japanese and English
This workshop explores the creative experiential process of Focusing discovered” by the American philosopher and psychotherapist Prof. Eugene Gendlin. Gendlin studied psychotherapy with Carl Rogers, and is often viewed as the co-founder of the Person-Centered Approach.
Akira, a former student of Gendlin’s at the University of Chicago, will share with you Gendlin’s thinking and practice through short talks and experiential exercises with mindfulness.
